Revolution Academy
Founded the company in 2006, Revolution Hair and Beauty Training Centre began as a 3- seater salon with 2 members of
staff and quickly grew to what is now a thriving 13-seater hair salon and barber shop, beauty salon and VTCT approved
training centre. The centre offers vocational qualifications in hairdressing and barbering, beauty, complimentary therapy,
mental health awareness and education and training, with a team of 13 staff and around 35 learners.
Revolution is purpose-built to provide an optimal learning environment. What sets them apart from many of the public bodies
in Cyprus offering training in similar areas, is their emphasis on on-the-job training, and creative course delivery techniques.
Learners are provided with realistic salon environments where they can develop their skills, building their confidence along
the way, so that when they qualify, they are ready to work in the industry.
In addition to the practical skills and techniques required to become a hair or beauty professional, Revoution provide their
learners with skills that are conducive to success in the present sociocultural context. For example, learners are given the
opportunity to promote their work through social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, and guidance is
provided in creating content (i.e., photographs and captions) as well as in responding to potential clients. In addition,
Revolution collaborates with leading industry professionals to provide opportunities to further enrich and enhance learning,
while raising awareness of potential career opportunities. For instance, learners are frequently involved in working with
industry professionals to create looks for fashion shows and photoshoots.
Revolution Hair and Beauty Training Centre has a robust quality assurance system in place to ensure that all learners are
meeting the assessment criteria and that the assessment system is standardized and offers equal opportunities to all
learners. All assessors are in-house, experienced, and fully qualified in both their field of expertise and in assessing
vocational achievement. Assessments are sampled on a regular basis by internal quality assurers who provide support and
feedback to our assessors regarding how to optimize motivation and learning for learners. Further to this, the centre is
inspected once a year by an external quality assurer.
