Strokovni izobrazevalni center Ljubljana

Technical Education Centre Ljubljana (SIC Ljubljana) is a vocational and technical school founded in 1962, which prepares students to enter the labour market or continue their education. It has three organisational units; The Secondary Vocational and Technical School, the Intercompany Education and Training Centre (Adult learning) and the Ježica Driving School, which caters for all categories of driving licences. The Vocational and Technical school provides programmes in the fields of logistics, textile and mechanical engineering. The total number of employees is 130, and the number of learners is approximately 1100 students and 800 adult learners per year. The following courses are offered:

  1. Short-cycle vocational education - 2 years: Assistant in Technology Processes, Textile Reworker;

  2. Vocational secondary education - 3 years: Car Mechatronic, Vehicle Body Repairer, Industrial Mechanic, Metal Sharpener-Toolmaker, Tinsmith-Roofer, Dressmaker;

  3. Vocational-technical education - 3 + 2 years: Mechanical Engineering Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Technician of Mechatronics, Logistics Technician, Creator of Fashion Clothing;

  4. Technical secondary education (4 years): Logistics Technician, Creator of Fashion Clothing.

In the last ten years, the school has been actively involved in the process of renewal of vocational and technical education in Slovenia, with a strong emphasis on mastering the key competencies and in the light of closer cooperation between education and the labour market.
